We're excited to officially launch the RhealSense website and share our mission with the world.

Who we are

RhealSense is a student-led startup building a wearable patch and companion app for the early detection of postpartum hemorrhage (PPH), a leading cause of maternal mortality worldwide. Our team of three is driven by the belief that every new mother deserves access to continuous, reliable health monitoring during the critical hours after childbirth.

Why this matters

Postpartum hemorrhage affects an estimated 14 million women each year. In many cases, it's preventable, but only if detected early enough. Current methods often rely on visual estimation of blood loss, which can miss the warning signs until it's too late.

We're developing a wearable patch that continuously monitors vital signs like heart rate and blood-oxygen saturation. The patch streams its readings to a companion app on the mother's phone, flagging subtle changes that may indicate the onset of hemorrhage before visible symptoms appear.

Better maternal monitoring shouldn't be a luxury. It should be the baseline.

What's ahead

Over the coming months, we'll be sharing updates on our progress, from prototyping and sensor work to the development of our companion app and clinical conversations. We're building this in public because the work deserves it, and because we'd rather learn from a community than in isolation.

Thanks for being here. There's a lot more to come.
